Hi...
I'm trying to set up a Windows 2012 Hyper-V environment nested inside VSphere 5.5, but no matter what I try I'm unable to add the hyper-v role: Windows always reports "Hyper-V cannot be installed: a hypervisor is already running."
I'm trying to install on an esxi 5.5 machine, which has two Xeon E5540 CPUs: I believe according to http://ark.intel.com/products/37104/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5540-8M-Cache-2_53-GHz-5_86-GTs-Intel-QPI that these processors should support what I'm trying to do.
In the VM settings I have enabled the "expose hardware assisted virtualization to the guest OS" as described in the Running Nested VMs document. The virtual hardware is version 10.
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious - if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.
Thanks!
